I have been with my husband for 8 years since April and we will be celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary in September. We have no little ones, but with tight budgets and even tighter work schedules I know the need to be able to take some time away from normal life. To enjoy some fun that does not consist of the 4 walls that if your home, there is a point where the monotony of every day life just gets to you and you need a break.

saturday night
Today is Saturday and after a very long and hard day (uh um, week actually) in work, I have agreed to babysit for my best friend. I have done this as she never really has a chance to go out normally, especially not with her fiancee. They have not long celebrated their 4 year anniversary and I feel that they need to go out and have some fun.

So I am currently sat in the living room listening for her little one in case they want something, with her bird beeping at me and her dog curled up next to me. I am watching a film and waiting for a delivery of some food as I am starving, for those interested I have ordered an Indian, not my typical night that's for sure!

Thursdays Choice - Hair
Today I thought I would take a look at hair. I am very bad with my hair and tend to overlook it a lot, it gets shoved up in a pony out of the way and on occasions I will make an effort, but those day are once in a blue moon. My hair is fine and flyaway and I have lots of it, it makes it harder to style as no curl will stay in and it just means that I get lazy easily to avoid the extra hassle.
It can be so simple to do lots of things with hair, but lack of practice and time or even energy can make it harder to have the get up and go to achieve anything. All of the above are simple but effective to adding some fun or style to your hair, from a bun insert to crowns of glory, all are available at cheap cost.
All items are from Claire's

Whats been happening?
I've been away for longer than I intended, I have been up to quite a lot in the last few week, I have seen Man Of Steel and World War Z, been to a cineworld secret screening for Now You See Me. I have been spending some well earned time away from work with my husband who on a normal week I will only see for two hours a day.
I have been meeting up with friends that I haven't seen in ages, booking a hotel and working out routes to Birmingham for a wedding, spending endless hours on the computer chasing up a complaint to 3 and hours on the phone trying to cancel sky and get out bathroom light fixed, really not fun at all.
I have been applying for jobs, working and other than that working hard to keep the flat tidy and the washing up to date (which normally builds into a crazy pile) oh and getting addicted to bloody candy crush!
June has been a very busy month, July should be a lot calmer.

Ladyboys of Bangkok
Last Monday, I kindly got invited to go and see The Ladyboys of Bangkok cabaret show with Laura and Danielle, Laura had got the tickets and with a mixed bag of apprehension and excitement, we set off to see the show. Cardiff was packed due to a show on the same night from Rhianna and so after a few under the breath mutterings and a fair bit of pushing we got out of the train station and into the car with Danielle who was exasperated with the drivers of Cardiff all thanks to the Riri concert.
Please excuse bad pictures as I only had my phone on me after leaving my camera at home.
We got to Cardiff bay with time to spare and took our places with a drink in hand and awaited the start of the show. What can I say, it was just a great experience. The performers were stunning and the costumes were to die for. The atmosphere was electric and kept you interested from start to finish, an hour and a half just flew by and after a lot of singing and swaying it was time to go home.
I would definitely recommend anyone to go and watch the show. pure entertainment.

Thursdays Choice: Ikea - Living Room
Can all be found on the Ikea website in Home Decoration - here
Can all be found on the Ikea Website in Living Room - here
I seem to be on more of a home kick than a beauty one this week, I have just been spending my time eyeing up all the shiny new things I could have, If I had the space, money and an eye for interior design. However, though I don't actually have any decoration sense - I can pretend. Thinking on it neither did Linda Barker or Lawrence Llewellyn-Bowen, but they seemed to do alright, Changing Rooms anyone? no? ah the 90s home makeover shows were so bad!
I generally like to keep to neutral and add colour with accessories like candles, throws and cushions. I think things are more interchangable that way. Ikea, the famous flat pack company. It's not always top notch quality, but it is pretty. Going to a store is a much better experience than going online, they have beautiful displays that are set up in a way you dream was your home.
What do you think?

CHANEL: LE VOLUME DE CHANEL MASCARA Review
Chanel le volume de Chanel mascara in noir, rrp £24 here
This was a free sample that I had sent off for and I have to say that I am thankful that it was free, as I am less than impressed with this item. My belief that 90% of the reason I dislike this is because of the daft wand that it comes with. This thing is just horrid to use, it actually goes through me when I brush the wand over my eyelashes. It's that feeling like nails on a chalkboard. Topping off the dislike I have taken to the wand is the fact that, for me, the wand was hard to use and seemed to make my lashes clump together. It may only be like this with the sample size, but I'm not up for paying £24 to find out.
Its advertised with 'the shock of volume, the shock of colour, the shock of style' none of which seem very prominent to me. There is a little volume and length added, but I can get the same effect from my £1 MUA mascara. The wear was not that great, it seemed to dry out and start flaking withing 3 hours. I will try it with a different wand, but i am not overall sold on this. For the price your pay I can tell you that you can get better ones for under £10. I am slightly disappointed with the mascara, but hey you can win them all.
As ever, just because it has not worked for me, does not mean that it may not be a amazing product for you, we are all different at the end of the day.

Innovation for the Home...So say I
If I had a house, was not renting and could make all decision in regards to all installation and decoration, here are a few things I could not resist.
For a lot of these, I'm sure your asking why? well I guess that is not a question of why more why not? There are so many choices of things out in the big innovative world, some that are actually worth while and some that are just fads and gadgets. Be this as it may, we all love a few things that are unique, that are different. In a materialistic way we define ourselves by our choices of furniture, accessories, colour choices. We are putting a subtle face on our home of who we are, and what we like. I (as you can see) have a slight quirky, if thats' the best way to describe it, side to me. Not to mention the part of me that is still a child.
However one thing I found deserves a picture all on its own. I would just love love love this in my home!
That would be just amazing if you needed storage space, a real class act, something I would love to own in my own house. beyond being a functional space saving idea, its just fab!
