Friday Favourites - Flowers

Flowers are a cheap and easy way of adding colour to you home, They are pretty and bright and can add a sense of fun to a room. Flowers always make me feel better, depending on my mood is dependent on what colours I will buy. The one thing I always love though are tulips. A lot of people and even florist don't like tulips but I do, I love the colours and the shape and I love that as they get older the tips get whiter. With the exception of roses and lilies flowers can last almost 2 weeks and I've even had bunches that just refuse to wilt. Tulips are my number one choice and then I like roses but as I just said they don't really last as long. I'm a strong believer in getting value for money so the longer they last the happier I am.

If they are bought for me as a gift, as a surprise from my husband or if I just buy them myself as a little treat, they are one of my loved in my home. I've even bought plants on occasion, I just have no green thumb so they die pretty quickly. Supermarkets offer a wide choice of flowers now and though they are still seasonal there are a lot that you get all year round. a £5 bunch now and then is a worth expenditure too add the smell and colour and life to my home.

My Birthday

My Birthday may have been almost two weeks ago, but I thought I would share some of the things I had
  • Money
  • Sherlock season 3 dvd
  • Mama dvd
  • Thor the Dark Wold dvd
  • Chocolate
  • Bath bits
  • A dog toy
  • Wine
  • Flowers
  • More Wine and Flower
  • Malibu
  • The little Mermaid Shoes
  • A purple Star Balloon (yes this needed its own bullet point)
  • A beautiful Swarovski necklace
Needless to say that I was spoilt, but for my birthday not only did I get gifts galore I was also made a meal by my husband who just happens to be a chef, In fact not just one two, as I also had American pancakes made for my breakfast.

While he was making the meal, I disappeared for a few hour and appeared at my best friends house where she treated me to a coffee, flowers and a balloon.

he made me my favourite meal of corn fed chicken breast, fondant potatoes and creamed cabbage with a ju made of chicken stock. For desert which was a surprise he made me profiteroles on a bed of caramel. It was stunning and I was thoroughly full after it.

Thursdays Choice: Ikea - Living Room

Can all be found on the Ikea website in Home Decoration - here

Can all be found on the Ikea Website in Living Room - here

I seem to be on more of a home kick than a beauty one this week, I have just been spending my time eyeing up all the shiny new things I could have, If I had the space, money and an eye for interior design. However, though I don't actually have any decoration sense - I can pretend. Thinking on it neither did Linda Barker or Lawrence Llewellyn-Bowen, but they seemed to do alright, Changing Rooms anyone? no? ah the 90s home makeover shows were so bad!

I generally like to keep to neutral and add colour with accessories like candles, throws and cushions. I think things are more interchangable that way. Ikea, the famous flat pack company. It's not always top notch quality, but it is pretty. Going to a store is a much better experience than going online, they have beautiful displays that are set up in a way you dream was your home.

What do you think?

Friday Flowers

With some bad news this week and a health scare with my very first Asthma attack, I felt that I needed some cheering up. I don't have enough money to get myself a bunch of flowers so I resorted to looking at some pictures on the internet. I find that flowers have a great ability to cheer most me up so I have also decided to share them to cheer anyone else up that may need to look at some pretty pieces of nature.

I love daisy's there is just something about them that makes me think of summer and freshness. Tulips have always been my favorite flowers, I love the shape, the range of colors, sitting in the middle of a tulip field would be my ideal relaxation location. I also like roses and this purple one just seemed extra pretty and bright and finally some lilies, with such a variety in of lilies, I settled on the plain and simple white easter lily.

If anyone else has had a bad week I hope that these few pictures will make you smile, even if its just for a moment.
